| Your vehicle is being repaired... THE REPAIR CYCLE DROP OFF- when you drop off your vehicle make sure all your personal items are removed from the vehicle; money, CD's, I-Pass, removable stereo equipment, etc. Van Eck Collision is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items in your vehicle. TEAR DOWN- once your vehicle enters our facility we will start by dismantling the damaged area, and reassess the damage. If there was hidden damage we will process an add-order. ADD ORDER- if after tear down we realize more damage we will process an add-order. An add-order is a request to the party paying for the repair to compensate us for the additional time, parts, and materials necessary to complete the repair. BODY REPAIR- once we are approved to complete the repair we begin straightening the damaged parts that are not going to be replaced. If a part of the body is repairable, and if it costs less money to repair a part than to replace it we will use several specialized techniques to bring the damaged areas back to like-new condition. PARTS REPLACEMENT- if parts are not repairable, or if it costs less to replace them than to repair them, we will order new, salvaged, or after-market replacement parts. We purchase parts according to standards of the party that is paying for the repair. Depending on mileage and the year your vehicle was manufactured, your insurance company may require us to use salvaged parts. However, we will not use parts that are below our standards of quality, or that are not acceptable to our customers. PAINT PREP- after all the repairs are made and all the parts have been received and inspected we will prepare the vehicle to be painted. This includes applying primer to the repaired areas, sanding down the primer, sanding adjacent panels that are going to be painted, masking the areas that are not going to be painted, and finally de greasing all the surfaces that are going to receive a fresh coat of paint. PAINT REFINISHING- once the vehicle has been prepped for paint, one of our paint technicians will put several fresh coats of paint and clear coat on the vehicle. We use a polyurethane based paint manufactured by BASF, which is the most durable paint product on the market. After the paint and clear coats are applied we bake the vehicle in our industrial sized spray booths to allow the paint to cure properly. BUFFING- after the paint has cured properly to the vehicle we might need to do a compound buff, and a glaze buff to give the painted areas a showroom shine and color depth. DETAILING- after all the repair work has been completed we will clean up the mess created from our repair process. This service is included in your repair, however we strongly recommend that you invest in some additional detailing. If you have just invested in restoring your vehicle to pre-accident condition it would be a great idea to have a complete buff, polish, and wax. Or, perhaps a complete interior detail which includes carpet steam cleaning and upholstery & leather cleaning & conditioning. DELIVERY- once all our services are complete we will notify you. We can arrange for your vehicle to be dropped off if necessary, or have your vehicle waiting for you at our facility. Make sure you are aware of what amount you are responsible for. If you have received a check from an insurance company we will either need a check from you for the entire amount of the repair, or you can simply sign the check over to us. Please be aware that no vehicle will be released until all payments are received. |
